Stenströms.

There is a shirt company that is like no other shirt companies. At least in my mind. Swedish Stenström’s has been making shirts for a loong time. And once you have tried a Stenström shirt, you will not be as comfortable in other shirts ever again. Ever. Again.

This is what they say on their website:
Style, quality and comfort in every detail. This philosophy has made Stenströms one of Sweden’s most well-known and respected brands. The classic Stenströms shirt carries more than 100 years of tradition, craftsmanship and quality.

Women’s blouses, knitted garments, accessories, boxer shorts and ties are now also included in our business concept. Now, we can look back on our first century as a design and fashion house. And even though we continue to grow, our attitude to quality always remains the same.

And this is their story:

The year was 1899. Tailor August Stenström in Helsingborg was overwhelmed with orders. His reputation for making the best, most fashionable shirts had spread far and wide, and all the most elegantly dressed men wanted a Stenströms shirt. That same year, the first Stenströms factory was built in the heart of Helsingborg.

By 1912, success was undisputed. With 140 employees, this was Scandinavia’s largest shirt factory.

Today, over 100 years later, our reputation for unique quality has spread far beyond the country’s borders. Our attention to detail and sense of quality remain unchanged. And our experienced craftsmen and women still do most of the sewing by hand.

Each Stenströms shirt undergoes more than 60 separate production stages, 25 on the collar alone, to give it that special feel which is so characteristic of a Stenströms shirt. Production facilities have been modernized during our more than 100 years of operation, but certain operations demand a human touch and simply cannot be automated. Only then can a truly distinctive shirt be made; a shirt that retains its form, elegance and comfort year in and year out.

Here is where you’ll find your own precious Stenström garment:
